The company said it remains on track to bring additional CCS systems online at its Central City and Wood River, Nebraska facilities during the fourth quarter of 2025. Its low-carbon intensity biofuel production will generate carbon credits from multiple facilities this year.
“Bringing carbon capture online at York reflects the continued progress we’re making in executing our carbon strategy,” said Chris Osowski, Chief Executive Officer of Green Plains. “It’s the result of strong planning, disciplined execution, and a team-wide focus on optimizing every part of the platform to create long-term value.”
Green Plains has a partnership with Summit Carbon Solutions for a CO2 network connecting dozens of biofuel producers to a large-scale CCS system capable of carrying up to 18 million tons of compressed CO2 annually to North Dakota for long-term geologic storage.
